Bridgetown, Barbados, November 1 - (www.bcacricket.org) -BNOC and Midas Magic Ipswich will contest the Final of the BCA Second Division Plate Twenty20 Championship at Kensington Oval on November 7.
They advanced when both of the severely rain-hit semi-finals ended in no-results without a ball being bowled on the reserve day today.
The matches were: BNOC v Crane Resort St. Catherine at Woodbourne and Ipswich v Market Hill Blazers at Eden Lodge.
Clause 16.11 2 of the Playing Conditions states:
“if there is no play on the reserve day or the match ends in a "no-decision” the team which placed higher in the preliminary rounds shall advance to the final.
Clause 16 11.3: “in the event that two teams had placed in the same position in the preliminary rounds the team with the higher net run rate shall advance to the next round.
BNOC and St. Catherine were winners of their respective Zones A and C. However, BNOC had a net run rate of (4.998) compared with St. Catherine's (2.140).
Ipswich won Zone C, while Market Hill Blazers were runners-up in Zone A.
NB: There is no admission fee to the Final.
