Hope, Bishop slam centuries as Sir Garfield X1 crush Sir Charles X1 by 161 runs in Legends 50-over Cup

Bridgetown, Barbados, December 10 - (www.bcacricket.org) - Shai Hope hit a second straight century and Joshua Bishop also slammed a hundred to set up another win for Sir Garfield Sobers X1 in the second match of the Barbados Cricket Legends 50-over Cup at Kensington Oval today.

The victims were Sir Charles Griffith X1 by 161 runs following a one-run victory over Sir Wesley Hall X1 on Monday.

Skipper Hope and Bishop, who bats right-handed but is better known for his left-arm spin bowling, featured in a seventh wicket partnership of 203 in 28.5 overs, leading to a total of 321 for eight off 49 overs after losing the toss.

Bishop made 134 off 112 balls including nine fours and eight sixes after reaching his century off 93 balls with seven sixes and four fours, while Hope scored 106 off 105 deliveries with four fours and three sixes following his knock of 115 in the opening match.

Thw 20-year-old Bishop joined Hope in the 18th over with the score 107 for six, and both batsmen took advantage of a couple dropped catches to play some commanding strokes before Bishop was dismissed by seamer Matthew Forde.

Forde also accounted for Hope in taking four for 34 off seven overs.

Teriq Worrell picked up two for 49 off nine overs and fellow fast bowler Jarion Hoyte, two for 59 off eight overs.

The Sir Charles Griffith X1 were bowled out for 160 in 29.2 overs.

Captain Kyle Corbin topscored with 36 off 39 balls including six fours and one six, while Forde made a run-a-ball 32 with three fours and one six .

Leg-spinner Shavon Brooks grabbed four for 37 off 6.2 overs.
